Maryland NOW’s 2008 Annual Conference

Since the 2008 National NOW Conference is being held in Bethesda MD July 18-20, we are holding our own state conference as a planning meeting, scheduled for May 3rd.  We will meet at the Tai Sophia Institute, 7750 Montpelier Road, Laurel, MD 20723, beginning at 1:00 PM. The facility is located just off Route 29 south of Columbia MD.   No votes will be scheduled after 4 PM although we look forward to a lively discussion as we participate in a strategic planning session to plan for the coming months, and reserve the right to continue later than 4 PM if necessary. A guest from the NOW Action Center will report the latest preparations for the National Conference – the first one ever held in Maryland in NOW’s 42 year history.

Child Care can be provided, but must be requested in advance.  At-large members, those NOW members not affiliated with a chapter, are invited to attend and elect delegates to the National Conference.  These delegates are allotted on the same basis as NOW chapter delegates are allocated.  The Tai Sophia facility is accessible. In order to vote at this meeting, one must have been a member for at least 60 days; however, any NOW member is welcome to attend.

Please watch for a Maryland NOW Times with a complete report on the Maryland General Assembly session and more information about both the National and State Conferences.
